The History of 3.141592653589……

So, you might be thinking this question about π (pi): Where did 3.14 come from?

3.14 came from a guy called Archimedes. He computed upper and lower bounds of π by drawing a regular hexagon inside and outside a circle and successively doubling the number of sides until he reached a 96-sided regular polygon. By calculating the perimeters of these polygons, he proved that 223/71 is smaller than π and smaller than 22/7 (that is, 3.1408 < π < 3.1429). Complicated, I know…

When was 3.14 created? Of course, 3.14 was created on March 14, around 250 B.C. There is also a 3.14 day every year on the 14th of March (Pi Day). Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π with events mostly in the United States. Pi Day is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three figures of π and was founded in 1988 by Larry Shaw.

3.14 is very important because it solved the mystery of the circle. In my opinion, 3.14 is extremely crucial because 3.14 helps to solve mathematical problems, and I kind of like maths, so it’s very essential. 3.14 can also be used in daily life, like if you are building a circular fire pit, installing a round swimming pool, or choosing a circular rug or maybe just something round; you use 3.14 to calculate the amount of materials needed or the distance around the edge. You just needed more maths calculation skills.

Now you must learn more about π, right?
