Pui Ching Primary School 2024 – 2025 Sports Day by Olivia Lam

On 26th March 2025, Pui Ching Primary School held its annual Sports Day at Kowloon Bay Sports Grounds. I had the honor of representing the Pui Ching Gazette by interviewing winners, participants, and the Principal.

When we arrived, the venue was crowded with excited students. The day began with an opening ceremony led by our Principal, Mr. Yip Chin Hon Donald, accompanied by several teachers and some Primary Six pupils. We sang our school song, the Chinese National Anthem, and a sports song together on the ground.

As the races started, students from different classes cheered enthusiastically for their classmates, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere.

I had to leave the team to participate in a race myself. Although I waited for several hours before my turn, I was glad to finally compete. I learned that the boys had to wait even longer—up to four hours! I was thankful not to be one of them.

After the races, we returned to the stage to interview some students. Many said their classes did an excellent job cheering for their teammates. One student mentioned that although sometimes the cheering got very loud, she didn’t mind at all.

Overall, Sports Day was a fun and memorable event. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and there were many unforgettable moments. I look forward to next year’s Sports Day being just as exciting!
