Survival Club

‘Rude!’ thought Rica, she had entered the survival club just a week ago and she was already starting to hate it. Just because Evander was the club founder’s daughter, doesn’t mean she doesn’t mean she can bully everyone like this, thought Rica as she watched the tough-looking girl pushing another girl into a mud pit and stealing her medkit.

The next day, she overheard Evander speak to her gang, “They will hold the big competition this Friday. You, try and make up something to accuse my other competitors. And you, come with me this Friday and help me make some moves on the trophy.”

Shocked by what she heard, Rica quickly scrambled back to her dormitory, but she was stopped by Evander herself. “Think you can spill my secret, you little fool? My father will never believe you! Throw her in the forest and hopefully the wolf will finish her!” said Evander.

Evander’s gang tied Rica on a tree trunk, and left her there.

Oh no…am I dead? How can I save myself? …Oh no…are there wolves? thought Rica, What do I need in a forest…my hands are tied up…

Rica got a hairpin from her hair and untied her hands. Rica ate some gummies that she saved for emergencies in her pocket and calmed down a bit.

First I have to find someone and tell them about the survival club’s situation…but who? Who will trust me… Maybe if I took videos of Evander’s evil doings then maybe the camp counsellor will believe me, thought Rica. But what if Evander finds out? I need a backup plan…

The next day, Rica sneaked back into camp and hid herself in a bush. Evander was starting to put oil in the obstacle course. Rica took a picture. She took videos of Evander putting itching powder into Lily’s dress. Then she saw Evander hiding something but what? She sneaked closer…but then Evander turned around and looked at her straight in the face!

“You think you can outsmart me! I don’t think so!” She punched Rica but Rica just smiled. “What are you smiling at?”

“Well…I had a feeling you would know I left my prison in the forest, so I came up with a plan that makes you reveal all your wrong doings straight to your father! Camp Leader Phlint, you see? I wasn’t lying about your daughter,” said Rica.

“I am very disappointed in you, Evander Phlint! You will be suspended for this!” said Mr Phlint, “Rica, I am very sorry about everything. You will receive a survival honesty trophy. Here.”

Mr Phlint handed Rica the trophy which said: “Survival Club Honesty Award.”

‘It’s always good to have a plan’ thought Rica holding the trophy on her way home.
