Debate 24-25
The Debate Team had a successful year in 2024-2025 at the UNESCO United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Debating Competition.

Our Junior Team won the 1st Runner Up award, beating St. Paul's College Primary School and Immaculate Heart of Mary School.

Our student Charlie Lau won the Best Speaker award of his division in the Grand Final match against Maryknoll Convent School (Primary Section).
Our Senior Team's Jay Cheng won the Best Speaker award in their division's quarter-final match against St. Paul's College. They improved significantly since their friendly match.

Overall, our students demonstrated they could debate at a complex level for the motions: "Smartphones are bad for children", "Homework benefits primary school students" and "A.I. is good for sustainable development". Both teams were commended on the quality of their rebuttals and argumentative structures. We look forward to improving our results in next year's competition cycle.
